Tech Lead (Software engineer / full stack developer)

1. Position Summary

The Technical Lead is responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and supporting a digital legal information platform. The role involves managing the platform's front-end and back-end systems, implementing new features and improvements, maintaining databases and metadata, integrating and supporting artificial intelligence functionalities, and ensuring the platform remains secure, reliable, and fully operational.

The position provides technical direction, oversees code quality and development standards, and works closely with the legal team to support the publication and maintenance of legal content received from official gazettes and other authoritative legal sources, ensuring the platform effectively supports legal research and access to legal information.

The role is suited to private sector organizations, such as legal publishers and law firms, as well as public entities, including government bodies, judicial and legislative institutions, and publicly funded programs that provide access to laws and regulations.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the legal platform, including front-end, back-end, databases, and system performance.

• Design, implement, test, and deploy new features, enhancements, application programming interfaces, and artificial intelligence functionalities.

• Integrate and maintain AI-enabled features within the platform to support legal information retrieval, research, and related functionalities.

• Provide technical leadership in software architecture, development decisions, code quality, and development standards.

• Ensure system security, reliability, and continuous improvement through updates, testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

• Oversee application deployment, version control, and technical documentation to ensure maintainability and operational continuity.

• Support the legal team in uploading, structuring, and publishing legal content from official gazettes and other authoritative sources onto the platform.

• Coordinate with relevant information technology stakeholders, internal teams, and partner entities.

3. Education and Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in software development, preferably including full-stack development and technical leadership responsibilities.

• Demonstrated experience in a senior software engineering or technical lead capacity.

• Strong background in full-stack development, software architecture, system design, and database management.

• Experience in developing and integrating application programming interfaces and external systems.

• Practical experience with artificial intelligence system integration or implementing AI-enabled features within software applications.

• Experience with application deployment, testing, version control, and system maintenance.

Language Skills:

Fluency in Kurdish, Arabic, and English (written and spoken).
