Job description
The Project Manager supports the Senior Project Manager (SPM) in delivering strategic projects by managing day-to-day execution, coordinating multi-sector stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with the company's SOPs. The role drives implementation discipline on the ground, ensuring all tasks meet documented standards for quality, timelines, risk management, and communication.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project Execution & Task Management
Coordinate and assign tasks across project workstreams, ensuring deadlines are met.
Manage daily project activities through the designated tracking system.
2. Documentation & Information Management
Maintain OneDrive folders in line with the company's standard folder hierarchy.
Ensure correct version control and consistent file-naming conventions.
Upload approved deliverables to the Finished Deliverables archive.
3. Communication & Coordination
Manage stakeholder communication in accordance with the Project Communication Matrix (frequency, method, and audience).
Organize project meetings, record decisions, and track follow-up actions.
Coordinate with Legal on MoUs when partnership needs are identified.
Lead or support Quality Assurance Gate reviews to confirm deliverables meet standards before completion.
4. Reporting & Escalation
Provide weekly progress summaries to the SPM for management reporting.
Proactively flag emerging delays, risks, or vendor issues.
Escalate unresolved obstacles to the SPM or management in line with the escalation criteria.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Education
Bachelor's degree in project management, Business Administration, Tourism Management, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. Professional project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM) are an advantage.
Experience
3–5 years of project coordination or management experience in public-sector, development, tourism, infrastructure, or marketing programs.
Key Competencies
Strong understanding of project governance frameworks.
Proven experience coordinating cross-functional teams.
Strong organizational and documentation discipline.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-coordination skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Strong writing and reporting skills in English and Kurdish (Arabic is a plus).
Proficiency in the MS Office suite, structured OneDrive/SharePoint organization, and basic project dashboards.
Familiarity with Trello or other Kanban-style tracking tools.
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
Prior experience within KRI government or public-sector projects.
Background in coordinating with tourism or hospitality stakeholders.
Experience organizing or supporting events and festivals.
Familiarity with cross-governorate coordination.
Knowledge of the regional tourism landscape and seasonal patterns.
Fluency in English, Kurdish, and Arabic.
An existing network across local government, media, and the private sector.
Strong understanding of local culture and community dynamics.
